Monthly Alarm System Test
We congratulate you on taking this important step in testing your alarm system. The Armed Response Team is ready to immediately dispatch an officer to your home when your alarm is triggered. In order for us to respond the alarm system must be functioning properly, and that is why it is so important for you to test your system.
Follow these 6 simple steps – which should take about 10 minutes. We also suggest you keep a printed copy of these instructions with you during the test.
- CALL OUR MONITORING CENTER at 275-1130.
They will ask for: your name, address, and password.
Make sure you have this information before making the call.
- After the monitoring center confirms your information, TELL THEM YOU ARE TESTING YOUR SYSTEM. After telling them you are testing your system, you must hang up the phone, because during the actual test the alarm system will seize your phone line to alert the monitoring center.
- Next, ARM YOUR SYSTEM as usual and step outside and close the front door. You will be waiting outside for about two minutes.
- After your exit delay has timed out and your system is armed (the keypad will say "armed"), RE-ENTER YOUR FRONT DOOR. The system will begin the entry countdown. It could take as long as two minutes, depending on how your system was set-up.
Note: DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR ALARM YET
- After your entry timer is complete, your system will sound in "alarm mode". ALLOW THE SIREN TO SOUND FOR A FULL MINUTE to make sure the monitoring center receives your signal. Then disarm (turn off) your system.
- CALL THE MONITORING CENTER at 275-1130 to confirm the results of the test. Once again give them your name, address, and password and tell them you were doing a test. Ask them to tell you what signals they received, and tell them the test is complete.
Because this is just a test, you will not get a call or an actual response from one of our officers. If you have any questions, please call our office at 237-2278. We'll get you connected with someone from our technical support department. We suggest you run this test once per month to make sure the signals from your alarm are properly sent to the monitoring center.
