6 Things To Demand From Your Security Company
- Immediate Response. Your security company should immediately dispatch someone to inspect your home or business respond, once they receive an alarm signal. The officer should personally inspect the entire perimeter and then file a report of his investigation. This guarantees that your property was checked and is secured.
- Highly Trained Personnel. The officer who responds to your alarm should, at the very least, be as highly trained and experienced as seasoned local police officers. Only this level of training and experience will allow them to fully control any possible situation, including catching and detaining someone breaking into your home or business.
- Understands the Judicial Process. Your security company must know how to detain a suspect without violating their rights, how to preserve a crime scene, and how to testify in court. Only this level of knowledge and experience will help the District Attorney successfully prosecute burglars.
- Guaranteed No False Alarm Fines. The City of Albuquerque currently fines you from $150 to $500 for each false burglar alarm after your first three warnings. Make sure your security company guarantees you will not receive any fine for false alarms and, if you do, that they will pay it.
- Complete Security System. Your company should be able to do it all — install and service equipment, monitor the alarm system, and provide a guaranteed in-person response.
- Full Licensing and Insurance. Your company should hold proper State and City licenses, as well as hold required Liability and Workers Compensation insurance.
